Leo Negao
BJJ Black Belt and 4 x Former BJJ World Champion
Leo Negao is an accomplished Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner. He began his journey in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 1990 and has since become a renowned figure in the sport, achieving numerous titles at both the state and national levels in Brazil. Leo Negao is widely recognized for his exceptional grappling skills, and he has had the privilege of training with some of the legends in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, such as Leo and Ricardo Vieira, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Fabio Gurgel, Terere, and even the MMA superstar Anderson Silva. Leo's primary motivation for practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is for self-defense, and his approach emphasizes maintaining constant pressure on his opponents, preventing them from regaining advantageous positions. Furthermore, Leo is an expert in escapes and defensive techniques. In addition to his many championship victories, Leo Negao is an experienced and highly regarded instructor in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, known for his teaching prowess. His style is focused on practical and effective techniques that are suitable for real-life situations. Leo's mastery extends to guard passing and controlling positions, making him a well-rounded and formidable practitioner in the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Anton Kim
BJJ & Judo Black Belt
Anton is the Head Coach at Alfa BJJ, and he holds black belts in both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and Judo. He is a highly accomplished martial artist with expertise in both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo. As the Head Coach of Alfa BJJ, he plays a significant role in shaping the training and development of students at the academy, helping them to improve their skills and advance in these martial arts.
James Rompani
Urban Krav Maga Instructor / BJJ Blue Belt
James, one of the co-founders of Kalibre Academy, possesses over a decade of experience in Urban Krav Maga. He achieved instructor status through training under the guidance of Leo Negao, a four-time BJJ World Champion, and Stuart Mcgill, the Chief Urban Krav Maga Instructor. James specializes in teaching techniques related to female self-defense and knife defense and conducts regular classes in London through his school, Street Smart Survival. He is now set to introduce his refined techniques and curriculum to Kalibre Academy. Furthermore, James is a certified Psychological Fitness Specialist, having received training from Dr. Mark Atkinson. He is also a certified NASM Personal Trainer. His diverse skill set and commitment to empowering individuals through self-defense and psychological fitness make him a valuable asset to Kalibre Academy and its mission.
