Alex Pereira
Head Coach Of Carlson Gracie Jiu Jitsu Peniche.
Since 2015, Alex has served as the founder and head coach of Carlson Gracie Jiu Jitsu Peniche in Portugal, offering a vast reservoir of expertise to his students. Having received training from esteemed mentors such as Erik Paulson, Eddie Bravo, Mendes Bros, André Galvão, and Marcos Flexa during his time overseas, Alex has acquired invaluable knowledge. Despite primarily competing at colored belts, Alex has clinched national championship titles in judo and BJJ, showcasing remarkable achievements in international competitions.
Kevin Chan
4 Stripes Black Belt and founder of the Kamon Martial Art Federation
Kevin Chan, founder of Kamon Martial Art Federation, is a 4-stripe black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and has been practicing martial arts since childhood. He established Kamon in 1992, growing it into a successful network of academies across the UK. In 2008, Kevin was awarded his BJJ black belt by the legendary Mauricio Gomes, father of world champion Roger Gracie, making him one of the first black belts in the UK. Known for his dedication to training and competition, Kevin remains an active practitioner and leader in the BJJ community.
Marco Canha
Black Belt Under Ricardo Vieira
Marco Canha is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, promoted by the legendary Ricardo Vieira at the Fightzone academy (Checkmat's Brazilian headquarters in Rio de Janeiro). Born in the “Mecca” of Jiu Jitsu, Marco Canha made a name for himself as one of the hottest new prospects to come out of the Checkmat Academy and has since moved to Europe, where he opened up his own Fightzone affiliate in London.
Rosa Walsh
Representative of Essential Jiu Jitsu, New York
Rosa is a high-level competitor from Ireland. Training out of Pedigo Submission Fighting, she is one of the most exciting grapplers in Europe, with many achievements including ADCC Open, Pan Ams, placing at Europeans, AJP Tour, and various other competitions.
Valmyr Neto
Black Belt and Founder of the Gravesend Team
Originally from Belém do Pará, Brazil, known as the birthplace of Jiu-Jitsu, Neto stands out as one of the leading black belts in the United Kingdom, excelling both in competitive matches and coaching. Having earned his black belt under Walter "Broca," Neto founded his team in Gravesend, Kent. Now, he's eager to impart his exceptional expertise, perhaps even offering insights and techniques on his preferred position, the half guard!
Clara Kervyn
BJJ Blue Belt and a Pilates Instructor
Originally from Belgium but now embracing the Mediterranean vibes of Cyprus, Clara began her journey into Pilates while working as a physiotherapist in 2021. Currently, she is a sports & MSK physiotherapist at Better Flow Physio in London and a Pilates instructor at Fightzone London, where she infuses each session with her passion for movement and injury prevention. As a blue belt in Jiujitsu and a dedicated strength training enthusiast, Clara understands the importance of a balanced fitness regimen.
