Priit Mihkelson

Founder of the "Defensive Jiu Jitsu" System

Priit, a 3rd degree Black Belt with 30 years of experience in martial arts, specializes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, grappling, and MMA. As a coach at Estum Jiu-Jitsu in Tallinn, Estonia, Priit emphasizes fundamental postures and movements that are essential for all grapplers and MMA fighters. Renowned for his defensive expertise, Priit's innovative concepts have significantly influenced the sport.

Leah Grovell

Head Coach at Apex Jiu-Jitsu in the Netherlands

Leah is a black belt from the Netherlands, where she and her brother run their own academy, Apex Jiu-Jitsu. Leah is famous for her technical, funky, and creative style, which makes her a joy to watch and learn from. She has won many tournaments, including her most recent achievement- the 2024 IBJJF European Championship at Black Belt.

Leonardo Lucindo

Jiu Jitsu Instructor & Competitor based in Finland

Hailing from São Paulo, Brazil, Leonardo, a passionate 28-year-old, has spent the last 20 years mastering the art of Jiu-Jitsu. He earned his black belt under the guidance of Michelle Nicoline and has become a skilled teacher and competitor, collecting numerous titles in competitions like Open IBJJF, CBJJE, and FPJJ. Starting his training journey at the young age of 7, Leonardo's love for the sport has only grown stronger over the years. He now shares his knowledge and passion by teaching Jiu-Jitsu in Finland.

Liló Asensi

3rd Degree Black Belt

Lilo is from Spain and for the past several years she has been teaching at Artesano Fight Sport Academy in Hamburg, Germany. An experienced competitor with many medals at high level tournaments, she is an amazing BJJ instructor and currently is active on the competition scene as a referee. Lilo is the first female to earn a BJJ Black Belt in Spain.

Robert Nestor

Founder and head coach at BJJ Akademie Berlin

Robert is a black belt under Nick Brooks. He is a full-time instructor, a competitor, and has a great understanding of Jiu Jitsu fundamentals. The teaching approach he uses is particularly advantageous for beginners.

Brian O'dea

Yoga Instructor

Brian O’Dea teaches what he describes as a “gooey-yet-firm-mid-tempo-flow” designed to bring the class to a simmer before melting into deeper stretches. He aims to create a fun classroom environment for all skill levels to explore the mind-body connection through the breath, movement, and stillness of yoga. Brian started yoga as a New Year’s resolution way back in 2010, somehow actually stuck with it, and received his 200-RYT certification in 2020. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, writing, fighting (in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu), and then writing about said traveling and fighting when he returns home.

Location

Bansko

This beautiful mountain resort is located at the foot of the Pirin Mountains at an elevation of 1200m above sea level and is one of the best ski resorts in Bulgaria. The resort offers excellent skiing and snowboarding. The resort is conveniently located close to central Bansko. The town of Bansko is famous for its great nightlife and is just 2 hours from Bulgaria's capital city, Sofia. Participants will stay in a luxurious 4-star hotel that offers a full range of services for both adventure and relaxation. The resort includes a massive 2000 sq meters spa facility and we've arranged to have our training space inside the hotel allowing you to walk straight from your luxurious room to the mats - no snow boots required!

Day 1 March 13
Arrival Date Camp registration, welcome snack, and first seminar! Note: If you’d like to arrive earlier, you can reserve a room up to 2 nights early! Please contact us directly to arrange for extra nights!
Day 2-5 March 14-17
Seminars all day! Jump in, jump out! Yoga session every morning, 2-3 seminars per day, unlimited open mats, excursions. Breakfast and Dinner buffets included. Stay hydrated and enjoy the camp!
Day 6 March 18
Check out Time to go home, likely in better shape than when you arrived!.

FAQ

About the Organizer

Paco is a purple  belt, digital nomad, and entrepreneur. He has been a full-time traveler since 2017 and discovered Bansko accidentally. He fell in love with the area's natural beauty and decided to make this small winter village his base. When he's not traveling, Paco stays in Bansko - hence his desire to put Bansko on the BJJ map and show it to more BJJ enthusiasts!

    It was my first camp and i had a great time. Location was perfect and hotel with facilities. Coaches did great job with seminars and everyone could fill their time with things they wanted to do.

    Amazing professors! The hotel is very good value for money, you wouldn’t be able to get that in another place in Europe for that value. The buffet is huge and there is different kinds of food for everyone. SPA is great for after training, it is very big as well, I don’t think I managed to try everything. The organizers did a very well job with all the extra activities and the excursions, my favorite was the hot springs excursion! 🙂 I recommend it to everyone!

    This camp was fantastic. I have never done one before and am a BJJ beginner. The instruction was excellent and there was a superb atmosphere between students of varying grades and experience from all over the world. There were gi and no-gi seminars plus plenty of open mat time.

    If you have never visited Bulgaria before, the country offers superb value for money for any traveller and this was reflected in the hotel, where the luxury spa, well equipped gym and top class food were provided all in the price.

    I also took part in this camp along with my non-training partner, who was made to feel completely welcome and included in everything off the mat – again at a very good value price. This was echoed by other participants who had brought partners and even children with them.

    This camp was also superbly organised, both when we were there and leading up to our arrival.

    This was a wonderful way to train and travel. We will absolutely return and wholeheartedly recommend.
