FAQ
About the Organizer
Warren Stout created Pura Vida Jiu Jitsu camp as a way to share the connection between Jiu Jitsu and the beach lifestyle he experienced during his five years living in Costa Rica in the early 2000s. He believes that the history of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is closely tied to the beach lifestyle, and wanted to provide a way for others to experience this connection. In a podcast he recorded at a past camp, Daniel Gracie comments on how the area where the camp is held in Guanacaste reminds him of Barra De Trujuca, where Carlos Jr., Renzo, and others began Gracie Barra, which was a major influence in shaping Jiu Jitsu as it is today. Although the area has changed since the 1980s, the camp aims to provide a taste of that lifestyle.
